Our Story

Welcome to Inked Empress Fiber Arts! My name is Laura. I have been a knitter and fiber artist for over 20 years! I started my journey just like any other crafter, voraciously absorbing every new technique and method I could find to advance my skills. Before I founded Inked Empress I was a career chemist. I love the science that happens behind the scenes of bringing beautiful yarn and handmade goods to the world.
I have been going to fiber festivals for years and I noticed a trend, a lot of alternative style folks like myself and no yarns or patterns to fit that mold (or lack thereof). So I decided to dedicate my business to providing all the unique people of the world fiber with attitude! Here you will find an inclusive community with saturated colors and an alternative flair.
